Am convinced that the Book 6 news is old news already, if I've heard it. Yawn.

In non-HP news, but fitting in the categories of Pervy Things I Like To Do Eeeevil Fingertip Tapping Over, I'm SO glad that Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events used as the film's climactic event the ending of The Bad Beginning, yayyy!

Because you all know how much I love non-con weddings, doncha? Ooh, I was so happy when I realized that was where the film was going!

Tonight, Count Olaf/Violet is my favorite het pairing, yay.

Hee! I was thrilled they went that way with the story. I thought they cut it at first and I was all noooooo. But my favorite het pairing there is Klaus/Violet.

I was a Flowers in the Attic fan, obviously.

Haven't read any fanfic in that 'verse, but I can see how that could appeal! (V.C. Andrews. Eeesh. Not that I didn't read it--hell, I broke the binding on Flowers In the Attic--but it just feels like...the folly of my lost youth, y'know?)

Oh, it's crap, I agree, but it lurks in that corner of my brain where things like Judy Blume's Forever and strange erotic vampire novels put out by Avon (my mom actually bought me these) live. You know, those books with the sexy sex scenes that helped me through my formative years. I've never read fic in Snicket or V.C. Andrews, actually, though I might be interested in Snicket.

Your icon's cracking me up. :D

Don't mind me poking in here, but if you ever find any good V/K? Pass along, please. >_> I'm sort of dying for it. It'll crawl out of my brain eventually.

I love Count Olaf in the books, but... give it to me straight: How much scenery does Jim Carrey chew?

Otherwise, Olaf/Violet 4-evah. Klaus can have Sunny.

I won't lie to you; he does chew it, yes, but since Count Olaf is meant to be a hammy actor even when he's offstage, it's not as bad as you might think. I wasn't really sold on him during the first part of the film, but when he shows up in his first disguise, I was laughing my head off, it's such a clever performance. And by the end of it, his hamminess is just an acceptable part of the movie's silliness. Or so say I.

I feel very ignorant, I'm not familiar with Lemony Snickets - oops. Thanks for the news link on the book, however. May be old, but I hadn't heard it.

Hope you dont mind that I friended you? I love your writing, so I wanted to keep an eye out for anything new you were working on. Also love your recs.

Thanks for the info... will now have to go and look LS up and not feel like such an ignoramous!

Welcome, and thank you! The Lemony Snicket books are definitely a fun read. The narrator's mystery is my favorite part, but they're at least worth a look to see if you like them.

I did not read either spoiler because I have not read the books or seen the move yet, but I just like picturing you doing the evil finger tapping thing ^_^

That movie was interesting but it pissed me off. Like how they condensed 3 books into one. But the thing that pissed me off the most was that I got the illusion they were trying to make Olaf amusing, not scary.

And that pissed me off. Majorly. I'm just glad they haven't made Voldemort like that.

And I hated the first two HP movies. Just as a sidenote. :D

Funny coincidence--at the time I was reading this, I had just flipped on the tv and this movie was on!

They did take a humorous tack with Olaf. I think they ran with the idea that Olaf is a pretty incompetent villain--or he would be, if all of the adults who might stand in his way weren't also complete idiots themselves, and the children are the only ones who see through his absurd (and obvious) schemes.
