Who was it on my friendslist who posted a large chunk of WIP that had heavy influences from the fairy tale The Twelve Dancing Princesses? Because I have this big plotbunny trying to bite my butt right now but need to see how much similarity there would be to that work, 'cuz plagiarism sux.

I'm assuming it was [livejournal.com profile] ntamara? She just sent a draft to me for beta-reading.

AH! That was my first guess, believe it or not, but I despaired of having to go back and pick through all the subject headings. So is it truly an adaptation of that? I'll send her a message too...

It's very faithful - if you've read her "Whitebeard" for the Buggering Bee, then that's about the same closeness of adaptation. Written in the original fairytale style. Er...except with orgying instead of dancing.

I already emailed you on it, but yes that was me (and I'm waiting for Delphi's beta before posting it)

I closed the entry to private because it became unabandoned and I wanted to keep people unspoiled again, but I've opened it up for you if you want to check it out in the meantime: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ntamara/170942.html

so I stay pretty close to the fairy tale, try and tell it in that style, and then lots of smut, and then back to fairy tale ending (sticking to the story as much as I can)

but anyway, as soon as I get it back from delphi the real thing (which has had some changes done) should be up on my journal

Ooo, The The! You've just given me a mad urge to hear that song, immediately. :D *shuffles through CDs*

And do look after your butt. Beware of the bunny, and don't go losing any buttocks - unless it's for serious kink research purposes.

That, and Uncertain Smile are two very inspiring songs when I wanna write. Or dance. Or anything.

And thank you for the butt concerns. You are a sweetie.

Hey dear! I have an idea. Will you be interested in having Lupin be the new DADA teacher? The rpg needs one asap, because poor Harry can't do it alone. Dumbledore might owl Lupin (owls are in cuts, btw, and there's no comments) and ask him later today. Would you be interested? *puppy dog eyes* that way he can be interacting with Harry and the teachers more. :)

Date: 2004-03-05 02:09 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com
Certainly! That makes a lot of sense, and I'd love to have more interaction time. Tell Dumbledore to send away and Lupin'll respond back.

we don't send owls on the community. It's in Dumbledore's journal. Just go to the community's friends page and you should find it

I'm spamming your journal about two topics totally unrelated to this post. You have my advance apologies.

1) Hey, you joined both groups I co-mod. *squee*

2) Do you remember a conversation we had on your journal ages and ages ago about how the LJ "friend" concept was a misnomer and led to weird misunderstanding and stalking and such? Well, if you don't, it happened anyway. ;)

In case you have not been following LJ [livejournal.com profile] news, the powers that be at LJ have finally decided to make major alterations to the friends system. So, if you want some input into what they are going to do about it, you might read and comment:

Icon Spam

Date: 2004-03-06 10:02 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lagoonlady.livejournal.com
Your welcome.

Um. I just have to inquire about your icon. Where was this image from? Who are those cosplayers and is there some place I can gawk at them some more...? (I'm really seeing the virtue of cos/roleplay. *snicker*)

I also adore your Frodo kissing Sam icon. So many icons use the image but the text usually is some totally inappropriate quote from a pop song. I mean, using a Tolkein quote on a Lord of the Rings icon... It's practically revolutionary!

(The journal it comes from -- if x_flamingicons_x is an LJ journal -- doesn't seem to exist anymore. Do you think there would be drama if I gacked it?)

The Harry in that icon is played by [livejournal.com profile] kamapon, so she tells me! Isn't it cuuute?

And I can't remember if x_flamingicons_x was the full name of the lj user...or just the name s/he wanted to be credited by. In any case, s/he simply asked that that name be used for credit, and of course you may use it! (And I agree with you--pop song quotes on LOTR icons rarely move me. That's why I loved this one in particular!)
