Vampires Suck could have been a fun parody movie, but I was warned right away when I took the DVD out of the Netflix envelope and saw Running Time: 2 hrs on the cover. Oy. Guys, parody should never ever be longer than the original; who doesn't know this? Many of the gags in this are clever but they've killed the film in editing, just killed it. I want to hack out about three seconds out of every five.

(and the last movie I saw in a theater was Coraline, the last movie I saw in a theater that wasn't someone else's treat was Kill Bill 2)

Date: 2011-04-05 12:07 am (UTC)As geeky as I am for Tolkien, I still watch Jackson's LOTR extended editions and say to myself, "...You're right, that scene wasn't necessary. And neither was that. Or that." Jackson says the theatrical releases are his definitive releases, not the extended versions, and I'm proud of him for that.
