The S.O. called me the previous night and said, "I think you have to sit down, I have bad news in the 'actors who have died' genre." He knew I loved Pete Postlethwaite that much. I first noticed him wayyyy back in Alien 3. He was delightfully prolific in film, rather like Michael Caine, and my family used to joke whenever we talked about a film, "So who's in this one?" "Eh, Pete Postlethwaite's gotta be in it somewhere, it's the law."

Are there posthumous knighthoods? Wish he'd got one during his career.
