I'm watching Larry King Live, and I'm just shocked. I'm also trying to figure out how the hell she got hurt so badly. I've been skiing since I was 13, fallen countless times but the worst injury I ever had from skiing was a sprained thumb. (from my pole getting stuck in a mogul) I just... damn. This is so upsetting.

Yes. A friend of mine in Germany is probably permanently brain-damaged (he hasn't really 'woken up' properly) from being knocked off his motorbike at New Year. Medical opinion now is that he had a bleed inside the skull. He may never really be able to talk or respond consciously to other people again.
