to be honest, one of the reasons i've avoided anime for a while now (besides the fact that there is sometimes exaggerated emoting that really annoys me), is that the impression i get from others is -- it really sucks you in. most things i follow right now with an open canon -- mainly, various tv dramas -- are things i'm not overly fanish about (the one exception being metalocalypse). but fandom-wise, i feel like i'm stretched a little thin right now.
but on the other hand... i hate hearing other people say that, when i try to get them into things. so, i don't know.
