I got very lucky--the last bookstore I went to had EVERYTHING. I could have started there and saved myself some of the trip, but it was a fun adventure. ^_^

The scans just weren't doing it for me--I wanted pretty covers and pages to TOUCH.

As if! I am the person who goes through stages of obsession in every aspect of my life! If i start to like salt and vinegar crisps, it's all i'll eat for 6 months. If I can get the new greys' anatomy illegally via download i'll watch the entire 17 episodes in one sitting. If I suddenly find myself considering the possibilities of one Severus Snape and Harry Potter in a sexual way, I'll ditch my RL, join a slash community and write/read slash until my eyeballs fall out.

Y'know, like I've said, you can't court the thunderbolt--the thing that hits you and makes you obsessed beyond all sanity. So I can't promise you obsession, but, omigod, yes, this is a brilliant, brilliant anime/manga. It's so twisty. So clever. My heart pounds all through each episode, trying to figure out what the character is plotting and how it's going to affect everything else. Even among anime, which has slavering fans for everything out there, it's considered some of the best, I'm learning!

Of course I am. I bought this here Death Note t-shirt — *points* — because your obsession has rekindled my own, though it is still completely overshadowed by Silver Diamond. *nods in general direction of Chigusa icon* I bought the first three volumes IN JAPANESE because I have almost no faith in Tokyopop, and plan to buy the other twelve when I actually have money. (Now that's devotion, especially with no text translation.)

And yes, do watch/read Loveless. The anime's a bit short, but unbearably cute and I actually like it a little more than I like the manga.

I know what you mean! I'm reading the manga right now and woah on volume 07. I have up to volume 10 and then I'm going to have to get the rest, which'll probably happen this week. Once I finish the series, I want to watch the live action movies and read Another Note (because I heard to read/watch the series first, then read the novel).

And another vote towards reading/watching Loveless. The anime is beautiful and the manga is as well. I'm waiting impatiently for volume 8's release in September. (And if Tokyopop drops one of its better sellers than they're shooting themselves in the foot.)
