The stress is getting to me; in last night's dream I read Deathly Hallows cover-to-cover just after its release and it was about Harry, Ron, and Hermione discovering a baby giant and questing to take it where it belonged. Which they did. Draco was involved and ended up in a truce with the trio. There was not a mention of Voldemort in the entire book, yet in the dream I pronounced the book good because there were no crappy romances and it left canon completely open for our fanfiction to do whatever we liked with the resolution. Agenda much?

Two nights ago, I dreamed I read Deathly Hallows and it ended in a schmoopy Draco/Harry love story.

I had a dream a few weeks ago where I read Deathly Hallows and it was terrible. I woke up very irritated. (Another complaint: the book in the dream was really, really short.)

I can't figure out how my dream lets me read the entire book, sometimes! Dreams are supposed to be short and discontinuous.

Ever have the dream where you find a book you've always wanted but that doesn't exist? And you're so happy but then you wake up and remember, "damn, that book still doesn't exist."

I have dreams where I read graphic novels that don't exist. My favorites are when I walk into big book stores and see an entire rack of Tintin (or other) graphic novels (complete with logos, titles and cover art) that don't exist in real life. I'm always excited but distressed because in the dream I don't have enough money to buy everything I want. Sometimes I pick up the graphic novels and start to read (and there are stories with word ballons, etc.) but I never remember what the stories are. *sigh*

I'm waiting for the dreams kick in as I've spent the last two weeks rereading the first books. HBP is next and I am dreading it.

I'm hoping for a dream in which the book becomes effectively gen. No more chest monsters, please.

I've had a couple of DH anxiety dreams. One was when I was reading the book and enjoying it thoroughly. Half way through, I realized it wasn't titled "Deathly Hallows" and was therefore some sort of hoax, but I was having so much fun that I didn't care. A couple of nights ago, I dreamed that Ron was some poor Dickensian Muggle waif nicknamed "Blue" (because of his red hair, see) and he died because that's what poor little Dickensian waifs do. His chief characterizations were his adoration of Harry and the circus, so he was buried with circus memorabilia and everyone cried.

And I thought I was odd because I dreamt of Remus last night (I'm not into fur at all), and he was as sweet and tender as I actually think he is (ok, in some fic...) and...and... he just had to show me that he had gotten braces for his teeth.

I...I just don't know what to make of that.

I guess I'm not angsting over the book at all. *shrug*

That sounds very good. I wish it would be something like that, but I'm not too optimistic... You know, for months and months I was so worried about what might happen to Draco that I did not really think about what might happen to Harry. Apart from him vanquishing Voldemort, and all that. I mean, everyone talked about him dying, but I just rejected it right off. But I realise now that it's a real possibility. And it would also be pretty problematic for the ship... *gulps*

I'm not worried for either Harry or Draco so much just because killing Draco would be wanton, and killing Harry just wouldn't be on now that Rowling's letting Universal make Harry Potter Land. ^_^ The adults, though, I'm worried for. Snape, of course.

Dear God, at least now I don't feel so alone ... I woke up this morning from a dream were I was reading the last book and day dreaming about it; the last book, according to my subconscious, will consist of a hunt for the Horcruxes (-xi? -ces? It still plagues me) through a Hogwarts modeled on a Dali painting, with an Americanized Snape entombed in the wall, and end in a battle over the lake, complete with the spirit of Dumbledore-as-Fawkes being channeled in battle by Harry against a giant snake-spirit!Voldemort. Help.

Oh, God, I just remembered a dream I had a few months ago that involved reading HBP. It had a solid green cover, and was shorter than PS/SS. Come to think of it, it only had about three chapters, but it seemed finished. Then the rest of it came out a week later as book seven. Except, despite being the seventh book, it wasn't Book Seven as we know it. The eighth book was the real Book Seven, and was even being called that despite the fact that it was the eighth one. And this made sense in the dream.

I would very gladly take your ending. That is actually one of the things I'm terrified about.

I'm telling myself that I don't care. I'm not sure it's actually true -- once something's canon, it's hard to completely ignore. But I'm doing a fanfic panel at Sectus "limited canon compliance and gradations of AU" on just that thing -- stories that are compliant with book 4 canon, or book six canon, or book five except for the battle at the Ministry.... ;-) And I've been experimenting a little with AU to get myself used to the idea.

Date: 2007-07-10 02:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com
Ooh, maybe I can make your panel! It sounds excellent! I'm in the same boat you are--even when I'm writing "Sirius is alive" fics in my head I'm glossing over the part where he was, y'know, resurrected, and assuming the shock of it has ebbed, for the characters. ^_^

I found it on someone's LJ...

They are paying people to write fanfiction!!

Hello!! Ever heard of fandom before?!

Oh thank god I'm not the only one who's had a dream like that. My roommate and I have been talking about DH almost nonstop and the other night I had an extremely weird dream about it.

I remember I was like some kind of MarySue in my own dream and came up with a plan to defeat Voldemort that involved having sex with every male character in different kinky ways. And when I say every male character, I mean EVERY male character.

*shudder*

I couldn't tell if I was turned on or disgusted when I woke up. I do, however, remember thinking, "Holy crap! I was like some kind of Hormone enhanced MarySue! Ew." I may have actually had a multicolored unicorn familiar but I can't remember.

So in conclusion, no more kinky fics before bed, and I'm so excited about Deathly Hallows that I may be becoming scarily obsessed. I'll be seeing you in my dreams Dudley. *prrr*
