Aw, I got the sweetest virtual gift from an anonymous sender--milk and cookies! Thank you for those, whoever you are! *nom nom nom nom*

I made an update and a bit of an overhaul to my website last week--I still have the same aqua/teal theme (familiarity is comforting), but the page featuring my HP fanfiction is now sorted in the order in which I wrote stuff, most recent to earliest (most recent at the top of the page). Plus I've eliminated the "shorter fics/full-length fics" division and just put a word count. I figure this is good for those who say, "Show me the stuff that hasn't been jossed, that's written more recently when the writer has (one hopes) improved her craft," and also for those who say, "Give me the earlier stuff, when the writer was new-fandomed and eager and still full of fresh ideas."

One of these days I'd like to make a page which sorts the fics by pairings as well, but, eef, not this week. Too tired.

(I'm still using Netscape Composer to make and update web pages. Wonder how long I can go on doing that.)

I find your stories to be arranged and written in a very irresponsible fashion, young lady, and I'm telling. ;-P

And what, pray, would milady consider responsibly done?

Hee hee. All I know is that we're supposed to be writing "responsible" fanfic now, whatever that is--hopefully there's a manual somewhere out there for guidance.

Fiction, I say, has a responsibility to spelling and grammar and narrative structure. And that's it. You may join my bandwagon, if you like. *offers hand up*

*hums a bit of "Allons, enfants de la Patrie.." just because it feels as appropriate as anything else*

I have been waiting for a post that was, um, appropriate to tell you the silliest thing that happened to me! (It didn't seem important enough during Strikethrough '07.)

This is how much you have addled my brain:
The other day, I was walking through the mall with a friend taking a Harry Potter quiz. A question was asked, and I responded "Oh, that's easy! Snape told Narcissa and Bellatrix that by waiting 2 hours to appear, he could remain a trusted aide to Dumbledore and supply information to the Dark Lord."

A few steps and a forehead slap later, I say "Ohmigod I think I totally read that in one of Amy's fanfics! I can't believe I did that! I'm melding the Potterverse with canon!"

A few HOURS later I'm wandering around and I say out loud "ohmigod it IS canon!" But this time, I'm alone...so people look at me funny.

I am laughing SO hard here! Seriously, my sides are shaking and people are looking at me funny. Squee! Thank you for telling me this, darling! *hugs*

You did a reat job! The site looks good!

Mayhaps, someday, the art tributr page will getsome attention...?
Just the thought of art to your fics makes me guuuuhh uncontrolably.

You're so right, I'd really love to upload the artwork! The motivation is somewhere, like, number 265 on the To Do list, sadly. Maybe if I stop cleaning my house...?

when I'm looking for a specific character or pairing I just search with control-f. I've never had a problem finding anything by pairing on your page-- just my 2 cents.

Oh, you are so clever! See, this is why I still should make that pairings filing--because I are not real smart and lots of other people not smart like u EITHER. :D

Nice! The first time I read through your fic-list it was in no particular order - I think I left the short stuff till last, but just clicked on through by fancy until I'd read everything. But organisation is always helpful when hunting for stuff later on :). Word counts are great for that can-I-read-this-over-a-cup-of-tea question.

Mainly I'm commenting to rec this fic: Childish Things, by Nehalenia, because, seriously, I think it's probably right up your alley. It might be so far up your alley that the metaphor risks becoming obscene :). You might've already read it, you might have a huge backlog of fics, but... It's just so freakin' good. Severus/James, coerced-consent non-con... it's vicious and rich and textured and set in such context. I would suggest running, rather than walking, to read it.

Yes, I was glad I remembered to put the word counts in there! Because that's exactly how I think.

*runs to see rec!*

why exactly is it that by clicking Stories, full-length and ficlets, sorted from most recent (at the top of the page) to earliest (at the bottom), you get to 'Better to Curse the Darkness'? Is it intentional or is that just a fluke? :)

*eyes bug, goes to try it* Omigosh! Somehow that header must have got turned into a link, perhaps when Better to Curse the Darkness was at the top? I'll go change it right now, thank you! Although you're making me think that I should link something else there--a ficlet that isn't posted anywhere else, for example--and call it an Easter Egg. ^_^

haha, aren't easter eggs usually somewhat harder to find? :D although if you're proposing writing more, I'm the last one to say no to that :)

Interestingly enough, your first fic is one of my all time favourites. I think it's the first time I'd read Lucius done that way, so special place in my heart and all ;)

That is so sweet of you! I think there's something to be said for one's early stories in a fandom, when the ideas are newest and you're most eager and you're quite happy to shoot your figurative wad in every story, not worried about holding some ideas back for the next one. Even if I do go back and look at the early ones and see the POV shifts and over-use of italics and wince. ^_^

I've got to agree - some of the best stories I've seen are from people's first fics. Getting immersed in fandom is great, but it tends to change your perspective somewhat. Not to mention making me believe things happened in canon that didn't at all :P

I didn't realize some of my favorites were some of your earliest. Particularly, "A Spell To Turn Tigers To Butter." I LOVE that one. Sometimes I read the entire fic. Other times, I just read the ending. And, despite my love for broken!Harry, that one is always so satisfying, no matter how much I read.

One of these days, I'm going to end up reading all of your fics, even though I don't think I'll like them. And I'm so glad you write things I don't think I'll like. It prevents me from reading everything in one sitting like I do everything else, so that I always have something new from you.

I just wish my imagination wasn't quite so vivid at the mention of pain. I just read "Blood For a Parched Tongue" for the first time, and I'm still shuddering over the use of the earwax doohickey.

Also, I am, for some reason, surprised to learn that someone else uses Composer to make web pages. Well, I don't make web pages with them anymore, and mainly use it for writing fics I'll never post, but I still use it.
