amanuensis1: (Velvet Jenny the Cabin Boy)

Arrr, seems a good time to show off my "Velvet Jenny the Cabin Boy" icon, and mention that I'm nominated for a few categories in The Sorting Hat. Besides my paltry contributions, there's some really good stuff nominated there, including some of my favorite fanfics of all time, so, if you're keen on themed HP fic such as Dark Lord Harry, Slavery, Voldemort Wins, Forced Marriage (all big draws for me!), check them out. Stories by [livejournal.com profile] fabularasa and [livejournal.com profile] cluegirl and [livejournal.com profile] rushlight75 and [livejournal.com profile] stellahobbit and [livejournal.com profile] lexin and [livejournal.com profile] mahaliem and [livejournal.com profile] geoviki and [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge and [livejournal.com profile] geneticallydead and lots lots more!

These are my nominated stories:

Forced Marriage category: The Worst Happiest Day of His Life (Harry/Draco, R)

Mpreg category: As Sharp as Sunlight (Sirius/Snape, Harry/Lucius, NC-17)

Slavery category: A Spell to Turn Tigers to Butter (Harry/Snape, Harry/Lucius, NC-17)

Voldemort Wins category: And Just Plain Wrong (Harry/Snape, Harry/Lucius, Harry/Draco, Harry/Voldemort/Snape, NC-17)

Go browse! Go vote!

The competition is *fierce* for those...I think you've got the Mpreg category nailed down. ASAS is *intense*.

The Worst Happiest Day of His Life....

Even thinking about that fic makes me snort coffee outta my nose.

ooooh, As Sharp as Sunlight always makes me cry. It's style is so amazingly well done. and And Just Plain Wrong makes me all happy inside for some unknown reason which probably means I'm going straight to hell. :P

what? a time-travel category and no mention of Ouroboros (http://isis.arithmancy.net/ouroboros.htm)? scandal!

Yep. Totally voted for you in the 'Forced Marriage' category. 'Cause The Worst Happiest Day of His Life made me laugh myself silly. Then go 'awww' a bit. Then laugh some more. ;)

Since I can't vote, for my own lame cockhead reasons, I'll give you congrats instead and tell you that if I ever wrote I'd want to write like you, which doesn't really mean much considering my favorite words are cock, fuck and shit, but there you go.

It's incredibly cruel of you to make me like Mpreg, you know. I was so proud to say I categorically hated the genre, and that it was a vindictive fantasy invented by my sisters. Ah, well.

You're an amazingly talented author. Will you ever write original?

Date: 2006-09-26 02:06 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com
I'm sure of it! I've dabbled once or twice with some original stuff this past year, and I used to write original short pieces before I discovered HP fandom. I'll just have to get to a point where the original characters tickle my muse more than other authors' characters!

You are so sweet, thank you so much!

pardon me as I try to reform my ability to type after the babbling incoherence that "Sanguine" just made me. I asked for Harry/Lucius recs in my LJ recently and several people pointed me to it and...

i dont' actually have enough words of praise to describe my enjoyment of the story. the writing was top notch, the voice absolutely perfect, the plot beyond terrific, the sex so hot that it was one of the rare fics I actually...um...wanked through while reading, and the ending just oh.

So, lots of praise and praise and praise. btw, I also liked A Spell to Turn Tigers to Butter, and some of your other stories as well.

OK, I must lie down now as I'm pretty much just a puddle of goo at this point.

A Spell to Turn Tigers to Butter is one of those classic stories that you can go back to again and again and still deeply appreciate. Dark and disturbing, and yet amusing, too, with its resourceful Harry.

No, I'm not surprised you were amused-there was a feeling of evil glee all through the fic. I must admit I've had a few fantasies of how Harry works his way through the DE, pair by pair-they're dropping like flies and Voldie's all pissed off and baffled, "Wtf is up with my troops?! They've all gone bloody mad!"

I wonder how long it would take Voldemort to figure it out-or would he? *grins maniacally*

I always had this image of Harry, naked and collared, sitting on top of this pile of dead death eaters (Voldemort on the top of the pile, obviously), looking "There, that wasn't too hard," and sort of dusting his hands off. ^_^

No fair just jumping to the ending, though-you'd have to write it up, pair by pair! That's a lot of stories, too. *laughs* I'm especially intrigued by how in the world would he manipulate both Wormtail and MacNair.

I know you're not gonna do it, but a girl can dream, can't she? This and "An Eye for an Eye" by...er, I forget...are 2 of the main fics I'd love to see continued.

*is wistful, dreams of leg shackles, computer desks, and authors who write just for me*

If that's the one where Lucius forces Harry to marry him as revenge for accidentally killing Narcissa in battle, and ends on Harry being able to get pregnant because of Draco renouncing the family-then whoa! *fans self*

It's one of those, "but what happens next?!" fics you just want more of.

I know this is one of your way old Journal Posts, but I wanted to at least write in one that mentioned: "A Spell To Turn Tigers To Butter."

I only found the story because it was nominated for an award in the Smutastic Awards Community (http://community.livejournal.com/smutastic_award/21551.html).

I found it so entirely fabulous. I didn't read the summary [and I'm glad I didn't] so to see it unfold as Harry played the pair, was amazing. What a way to fight back. ^^
