Heh. I've had my livejournal over two years and just today, at last, decided to list some interests on my user info. Talk about procrastination. Eh, I think it's more that I assume others will think as I do: I figure if you found my lj, you'll stay if you like the content and not because we have interests in common.

I languish beneath your balcony, penning a very bad sonnet in your honour. You could have me on my knees with the crook of one delicate finger; I would even drink poison should your lovely self request it.

Mr Squee scoffs at my romantic, dogged devotion. Then again, he's really only here for the non-con.

Love,
Fan Girl

That's, like, the sweetest thing EVER. And if I'd really known what I was getting into, I would have picked a username like yours because that's way more the sort of squeeful thing I am, more so than this pretentious one o' mine which means "scribe"! *hugs you*

Oh, but there's also the 1 on the end, which I interpret as designating you the very best scribe. So it is apt, indeed.

Actually, this is just my alter ego. We've met before but you probably don't recognise me because I was wearing glasses then.

Mr Squee, you haven't met. He is my reluctant sidekick. He would say hi right now, but he's a little distracted by your fic archive.

*hugs back*

Yeah, that's about right. I mean, whenever I do a search based on interests I'm usually looking for a community, either a place to get icons or a place to post my stories if I'm writing something new. It's bad enough sorting through the scads of irrelevant communities that pop up; I've never even tried going through the bazillion individuals listed.

I think it's more a matter of, OK, here's someone I like. Maybe I met them 'cause they posted a LOTRiPs story in a com, but I'll look at their interests to see what else we might have in common. Sometimes. Usually not, but hey, it's an option, right? [wry smile]

Seriously, though, I think the whole interests thing was a lot more useful back when there were only a few thousand people on LJ and doing a search got you a manageable list of journals.

Yii, has anyone ever actually put "harry potter" into the "search interests" field? And not, like, broken the internet under the mass of responses?

LOL! I doubt it, and I hope they never do 'cause, yeah, the internet would just break, irreparably. :P

I have SUCH a good time with those! It's the main way I get my MST3K fix these days. I love [livejournal.com profile] mctabby for doing those. *hugs you*

:D Exactly. I already loved to read your journal and your fics and stuff. So even if you had total different interests I still would be here. *grins*

I should put up, like, totally weird interests! "Banana squashing." "Dog shampooing."

*grins* You should. That would be fun. :D "Talking to plants" might be a good one too

Uh, just a thought I've had for a while now... have you ever posted an entry that no one's commented on? ;)

Enquiring minds want to know...

(Okay, I had an answer, but then I saw your icon and snigiggled for about 20 minutes.)

Oh, I'm sure there have been! A rec or link I shared, that sort of thing. Sometimes what looks like a fic post is a link-to-the-fic-in-another-community post so I may get none or nearly none on the link post, which makes sense. I don't think I've ever blocked comments, though; let people comment where they like. And I'm not above posting "Your thoughts?" at the end of a meta- or ramble-post if I shamelessly want to insure discussion, though one should assume that all my posts end with an unspoken "Your thoughts?" ^_^

Hee! Great icon. Does that line come from anywhere in particular?

Hee, no, that's just what I imagine Lucius saying to me every time I contemplate HP fanfiction, since he's the reason I was pulled into it in the first place! 'S one of the very first icons I ever made.

Bride and Prejudice! Such a beautiful movie. I still can't believe how much the "quiet" sister was still able to rock out to "No Life Without Wife". Those girls really know how to dance!

That was such a delightful film! I can't even count how many ways I've seen "Pride and Prejudice" done, but I can't seem to get enough of 'em. Loved watching the counterpoint dance between the men and women at the beginning, in particular!
