So, if you found it as annoying as I did that they moved the release date for V for Vendetta and ruined a perfectly fab tagline...here's my reaction.

Free to all good homes.

WTF!?!?!

Not good. So not good.

This will have to be Dealt With. Possibly by blowing up Big Ben.

Okay, I know it's supposed to be "Remember, remember, the 5th of November" or SOMETHING, but I have no idea how I know that, because I have no idea what this is. What is this?

Wait, Guy Fawkes Day? *has a feeling movie is not about Guy Fawkes*

It's based on the coolest (arguably) Alan Moore graphic series ever. Check out the trailer here:

What!?!
They moved it?
Does this have to do with the recent London bombings?
Damn. And here I was cheering the perfect release date.
[I just got back from a weekend vacation and am barely beginning to catch up on LJ & news]

I don't think it's anything to do with the events in London. They says it's "to accommodate the movie's post production schedule."

But the main character V dresses in a Guy Fawkes mask. It's important for theme and atmosphere.

Found it in Sci Fi News, plus I remember someone on lj pointing out that it crushed the tagline's impact.

I'm hoping they were just squeeing themselves silly over the prospect. Now...sigh.

Knowing the distributors in my country, they'll leave the tagline and the release date, but change the year to 2006 and claim it is the best option. Welcome to Central Europe, where Murphy's Law is nothing compared to the people in charge.

It is downright infuriating. I may definitely take this banner. Oh well, at least I got a V mask at con...

Not really. You don't have to live in fear that the distributor will decide that it would be better to show the film with dubbing than with subtitles. I'm still having nightmares about what they've done to Alan Rickman's voice in PoA. It was a truly traumatising experience. I shudder to think what they would do to "V" if given a chance.

Being a cinema fan here means living in a constant trauma. Or at least in fear of one. ;)

Since you gave permission, I blogged using your image on [livejournal.com profile] riba_rambles here.

Noticed a huge spike in hits earlier today. Avedon Carol ([livejournal.com profile] sideshow_avedon) wrote an entry linking to my post.

Just fyi.

Agreed.

I totally flipped when I found out about the movie. It's that weird mix of "omgSQUEE!" and "omg, what if it sucks?"
