I've had a trying 24 hours; came home last night to a plumbing emergency and a dead laptop. Plumbing is addressed, and I seem to be back as far as laptop goes. My last full-disc backup was 5 days ago--my fiction docs get backed up more frequently that that, 'cos I'm anal, so I haven't lost too much, but that does mean I've lost five days of Safari tabs. So I'm declaring it Comment Amnesty Day. Sorry if I missed responding to anyone's big posts. Tomorrow I deal with everything afresh.
Damn, this has been a pain.
Feb. 28th, 2006 05:53 pmFor those of you who thought you'd have heard more from me in the past two weeks-plus, I've had a glitch with my new laptop which has been kinda consuming. But now I've put the thing through all the tests that tech support can have me do (the final backup, erase and install, and software restore that took me NINE HOURS today was just oodles of fun, right) and have reached the "send it in for repair" stage, which is something of a relief. Out of my hands and on to theirs, and I can sit here with my penultimate computer and go back to playing. So I will try to catch up on missed emails and the like soon!
