Well, it was an okay-I-can-die-now sort of experience. Really was.
Almost perfect. And give me six months and one more showing of the thing and I'll say, "Oh, hell, it was perfect. Forget I said anything involving 'almost.'"
I've cried, but oh, I haven't even started crying. The sheer joy of seeing my favorite story in the world done and done RIGHT is still bubbling under the surface and I still can't let it all out for fear it will render me incapable of action for the next few weeks.
Frodo. Frodo Frodo Frodo Frodo Frodo.
I'm holding off posting my take on the film, and the trilogy of films, and the books, and Frodo, and What Is All So Important To Me for a totally selfish reason: I want to give a few more of you a chance to see the film so you might actually read my spoilerish ramblings! So I'm going to try to hang on for a couple of days and try to get all my thoughts down.

Date: 2003-12-18 08:33 am (UTC)I actually told my husband last night that I could die happy now. I am so glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. A few good friends didn't care for it much, but it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I felt satisfied and fulfilled as I walked out of the theater. I cried litterally during the whole movie, and for about an hour afterward. It was an emotionally fulfilling experience, one that I will look back on with a smile every time I think about it.
And now I have to see it again and again and again...
