Tips/observations for Universal Studios, day 2: Islands of Adventure, pt 2

-Butterbeer is DELICIOUS. I had it unfrozen, [livejournal.com profile] fabularasa had it frozen, and we both pronounced it fantastic. (Actually, she says the frozen one wipes the floor with any other food substance ever created.) I adored the creamy sweet topping and can't imagine it without. I would suggest drinking Butterbeer when you're in the mood for a milkshake and Pumpkin Juice when you want something more fruity and refreshing.

-Going to the Three Broomsticks at dinner time in the hopes of avoiding lines was a wise choice; there was no wait at all. The food was fine; [livejournal.com profile] fabularasa recommends the fish and chips and I thought the shepherd's pie was decent, but the real draw is the atmosphere. What a remarkable recreation. You feel like you're on a film set; I expected to look at the next table and see Lupin in his ratty cardigan.

-The Cat in the Hat ride has turned Thing 1 and Thing 2 from deep-throated, sexy basso profundos to castrati. For shame.

I think that I really need to go to this theme park. But during the winter, by preference.

Butterbeer, eh?

Oh, yeah, butterbeer. ^_^ I'm surprised, too, how much I'm enjoying Florida in the summer. I've never been here in the summer months and everyone swore I'd hate it but I love the heat, so.

Thanks for sharing all your experiences...I think. I spent about 2 hours online yesterday looking at hotels, passes, etc for a family of four. We did a week long trip to Disney in December, but I want to go back so much now.

I'm tempted to go with a friend and not tell my kids, but that would be so mean lol. But Potter is mine. *whines* *holds Potter away from kids' grabby hands*

The advantage of staying at the hotels and being within walking/water taxi distance as well as having front-of-the-line privileges is considerable, I'll tell ya!

So, did she get butterbeer in the souvenir mug? I wonder if it's worth the price.
