The background text? Oi. Well, I'm sure that there's an easier way to do it, but how I did it (being relatively new to digital graphics myself) was ...rather archaic, actually. I used Paint (ha, can we say old school?) to write out the text and create a .bmp of just that. Then I used Microsoft Picture It! (which I absolutely loathe, but which has a few good cropping tools) to make a cut out of just Remus in my drawing. I then did a few fancy fading and blurring things with the text, overlayed the cutout, and did the fade with the airbrush in Photoshop 6.0.
Sounds like it was a lot of work, but it really only took about 5 minutes. However, I've seen this effect before, so if anyone else knows an easier way to do it, feel free to jump in and give advice! ^^
