Forgive me, all, for not having seen this before, but I'm suddenly having another epiphany and I'm absolutely ecstatically weepy over it. The joy of fanfiction is so much more than having more stories about the characters/universe you love. More than fitting the characters into your fantasies. It's getting ALL of the flavors of the possible stories in that fictionverse at ONCE. I just spent a few delightful moments squeeing over a dark evil Harry/Draco deathdrabble of ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
prillalar's, and I realized, as I said to her, the incredible joy of it is that tomorrow I can read a cute fluffy fic where Harry and Draco run off together and have babies if I want. AND NONE OF THEM CONTRADICT EACH OTHER. IT'S IN THE FANFICTION RULES.
I CAN HAVE ALL THE ENDINGS IN THE WORLD.
Oh, my god, that I did not have the full understanding of this before.
