Hey! ithurtsmybrain, run by trollprincess, is hosting the next The Pairing List That Ate My Brain. Go read the rules and give her ten characters from ten different fandoms to be plugged into the giant random pairing generator. Submissions end tomorrow.

This is the random generator fest that caused me to write crossover porn for Stargate Atlantis/Brotherhood of the Wolf(Sheppard/Mani), Run Lola Run/Guys and Dolls (Lola/Sarah Brown) and 24/The Incredibles (Jack Bauer/Mirage). I regret nothing.

I gave up when the list of fandoms was so anime heavy that I could fill a page with pairings I don't recognize. But it's such a neat idea for a community.

It's lots of fun. It's exactly the fest format that I like and the pairings are so cracky you just have to try your hand at it when you see them.

Hunh, and reading though them, I must have been thinking of another community, because I may not recognize all of the cahracters, but at least I know the fandom (Yes, I am in fact the only person on earth to have not read the Discworld series.)

The idea of Ilya Kuryakin/Ducky Mallard, however, makes me clap my hands in glee.

Oh I even grabbed my courage with both hands and submitted. I'm going to see if I can't carve out some times this weekend to wander through other submissions trying to find one where I know both fandoms. I do so love the odd cross-overs, but it's a bit dismaying to realize that there are so many series, or movies, or books, to which I've never been introduced.

Thank you! The first exchange between Manni and Lola made me laugh- what a perfect direction to take it in. I loved the way you took those little plot points from each source and used them to put the characters together. Brilliant.

There's no way I'll write anything, but seeing as submitting names was open to everyone... I just had to.

I'm quite proud of the fact that the only semi-normal adult type characters, one is a goddess, one is a robot, and the other is a flaming masochist!

The rest are mostly animals. I can't wait to see who gets paired with Bianca, the mouse from The Rescuers.
