Heh, well... I have some coworkers who have, shall we say, made a "diet lifestyle choice". Also, one of them is studying chem or something. They have unearthed some evidence that baked, fried, etc. foods contain a type of protein implicated in aging. (Never mind that it can develop during digestion, or in other mystical ways.) So all of a sudden, baked goods make you OLD.

Well. I certainly don't intend to spend the rest of my days cooking with moist heat alone, nor am I ever likely to make the same "diet lifestyle choice". So I have, in effect, answered the query "Pie or Immortality?" with a resounding "PIE!!!"

(Oh, and everyone at my weekend job, which happens to be a bakery, thinks it's a load of bullhonky. There's more to the human lifespan than Advanced Glycation End-products. Haha, it spells AGEs. Clever. :) And this is even before the whole yearly-quota-of-orgasms thing came up. Sometimes, science makes me sad. =(
