Okay, here's the challenge.

Summarize the two-and-three-quarter-hour stage musical condensation of Harry Potter, Or, The Boy Who Lived.

Well, I did once filk the lyrics of *all* the songs in Hello Dolly! as Harry Potter 5: The Musical (http://melannen.livejournal.com/53156.html). But that's not exactly a *summary*...

Neville does sword dance.

Now I have an image in my head of Neville in a male belly-dancer costume, barefoot, sword held overhead, looking hawt as hell. :-D Eyeliner, earring, etc. Geez, someone draw it already!!!

Aha! Well, I like, but that's only Deathly Hallows--you gonna ignore the other six books altogether?

I just read DH, so it's the only one for which I can clearly remember the order of events. :-)

My favorite part is Voldemort's tap-dancing routine from the fourth act.

Snape is the Valjean of the series

Besides, there's no 'The boy who lived' without Snape. So here's Snape story set to Les Miserable

Prologue
Young Snape talking to young Lily -- (Castle on a cloud)

Act 1
Snape sits down after Lily's rejection -- (On My Own)
Prophecy overheard -- narration
Snape meets DD on the hilltop (to Les Mis's Valjean's theme tune)
Dance number of the Godric Hallow
Lily standing in front of Vodlie -- Harry Survives (Come to me)
Snape back in DD's office again (Val Jean's Who am I?)

Act 2
Harry getting his letter to Hogwarts (Castle on a cloud reprise)
Snape/Harry first Potions lesson (At the end of the day)
Voldemort returns in GoF -- dance number
Occulmency lessions
Snape's soliquoy -- Bring him home
Snape's kill DD

Act 3
HBP's Confrontation (Confrontation duet betwen ValJean and Javert)
Snape's death scene (Little fall of rain -- Les Mis)
The Pensieve scenes (the final/Val Jean death song -- I mean it's totally appropriate)
All together group song -- (Do you hear the people sing?)

Rushing out now b/c of stupid work -- will need to edit later.

Well, Stephen Milo's already begun, hasn't he, with Potter Puppet Pals the Musical?

If you haven't heard it, you absolutely must. Although I appear to be rather useless here because I don't remember where I got the clip, and don't know where to put it so you can access it. If you'd like it, shoot me an email :)

Pssst...that's what WikiLemon (http://wiki.illemonati.com/) is for. Contains everything you need to know concerning Neil Cicierega. And I'm totally not using this as an excuse to proclaim my stalkerish deep and abiding love for Lemon Demon. I swear. Really. You don't believe me, do you?

Anyway, info here (http://wiki.illemonati.com/Potter_Puppet_Pals#Potter_Puppet_Pals_Adventure), containing MP3 and lyrics.

Oh, how appropriate Snape's song seems now!

I didn't mind all the solo asides from Harry, and I thought the idea to have all the action happen off stage was a bold one, but do I wish they'd cut down the interpretive dance section showing them "wandering in the woods" to less than 2 and a half hours. I did think it was a stroke of genius, though, how they condensed the epilogue by just lowering down a huge photo they'd taken from the first musical in the cycle to the chilling chant "All is well!"

*dies laughing*
That summarizes my book-feelings almost exactly, especially the 2 and a half hour interpretive dance. Which would probably be almost as painful as that section of the book ^^

:D

On the up side... there's plenty of room for fanfic during the camping section since it's never explained exactly what they do all day.

The saddest part is that I wanted to read your version and then realized...oh wait...

^^ I just was linked to that post of yours from google, when searching for H/D recommendations, and then realized that your name is one that I've seen on half a dozen other rec pages. I have a page with links to 'The Best' of your stories up, waiting to be read, in another tab, even!

I realize this is completely out of the blue, but I was wondering if you by any chance know of someplace I can download the pdfs of Cassie's Draco Trilogy (my ancient computer finally crashed, and took all saved files with it).

anyway, I'm uber duber looking forward to reading everything of yours (as soon as I'm home from work!), and just wanted to say 'hi!', even if you can't help me out with my random request.
