Yes, I'm pretty upset at the suspension of pornish_pixies--you can assume that as long as that name has a strike-through through it, I'm still upset about it. But. The suspension doesn't mesh with lj's Terms of Service, and I know that neither the mod nor most of its members plan to take this lying down. Go take a look at femmequixotic's journal and her post here to see how things stand.

And it was just yesterday that gmth posed the question that if one could go back to one's beginning in fandom and give one's younger self advice, what would one do, and my response was that I would tell myself not to panic when restrictedsection.org received its C & D letter, thinking that all NC-17 HP fanfiction was going to disappear from the web 4EVAH OMG. So I'm following that advice today, and not panicking. Restrictedsection.org did not disappear; pornish_pixies may return if we raise enough of a voice. I'm going to see what I can do to help. (In between writing smut. Damn straight.)

Oh, and? I've never locked a thing in this journal; I do not plan to start now.

Y'know, there's something incredibly reassuring about level-headed fury :).

I've never been particularly interested in drawing chan, but something about this whole thing quite makes me want to. Except then I'd squick myself out... so I'll have to stick to reasonably-aged smut. It *does* make me want to post more smut :). (um, yeah, I got nervous and locked some stuff).

WORD. You and me both. I just made a RARR!post about this, actually. :D I did check my interests with the intent of weeding out any "illegal" ones, but since I didn't actually have any in there (could've sworn I did!), nothing's changed after all. I'm very upset about pornish_pixies and shota, and am keeping a weather eye on the hp chan comm I'm still a member of. Because line images or text =/=abuse, and I refuse to even imply that such might be the case.

And frankly, I don't see the POINT in locking everything. There's a warning in my info, and I tend to say something in the actual rec if there's something particularly disturbing involved. That's reasonable. If someone runs into something un-innocent, they can't claim I didn't take reasonable precautions to keep 'em from it, and locking it all up under friends-only clearance isn't going to make it any "safer."

So, there I was going for my daily check of PP, to see if there were any new posts, or if anyone claimed my prompt for the Fantasy Fest, and it wasn't there. I'm glad I knew your lj amanuensis, because even as a lurker in the fandom, there are certain things everyone knows, and I knew you would have the scoop. It seems LJ is shutting down quite of few of it's journals. My sister's Doctor Who community was forced to become "by invite only" because it was hosting new episodes for download. I don't see why, but it was very devistating.

I am pretty pissed about pornish_pixies, cuz that's where all the good stuff got posted. Hopefully they just make it again and ignore the silly LJ baddies.

The Doctor Who thing, I do believe, was proactive by the mods because it had become so vast there were trolls and rulebreakers all over the place, so they went back to square one.

You're right, p_p can reform in a new form, but for lj to delete all that content is a crime of Chaos over Order. It's not right.

Except apology is not enough. I expect reinstatement.

Maybe, just maybe, apology is code for "we will make amends by unsuspending the account but we aren't going to say that here because we don't want to be swamped with demands from everyone to unsuspend their accounts, because we're only going to do that on a very careful basis." Maybe.

And I should say to you: thank you for being so thorough and so rational/calm on this issue even when you (like the rest of us) are clearly angry about it.
