Hermione Doll Art

I've been so busy trying to finish holiday exchange fics that I forgot to post these! I made another Potter-themed doll back in October. I made her for a dual purpose; I put her in a Halloween contest and so, as a result, she's a bit more...glam...than Hermione would likely dress, heh. Okay, say it, she's miniskirted and a tart! But g'wan, take a look anyway.







Yes, beaded boots! Well, I never claimed to be a professional at this. I did try to keep the face painting on the modest, non-tarty side though, and am happy with that. That little thing that looks like a garter is actually holding her wand holster on the side. Crookshanks is made out of clay and so's her wand.



She started life as a Mystery Squad Kenzie, so, I can't take any credit for the hair, it came like that.

*giggles* Thank you! Really, I wanted to dress her without so much frill, but when it comes to female dolls in doll contests, you either need to be very very good or there has to be beading. It's like, the law. ^_^

When I made my first doll it had little clay animals as props, and I looked at them and at the doll and thought, "You probably could have more talent for the clay than for the painting." Wah! Oh, well, at least I have fun. ^_^

Yeah, I can tell you the basics of the boil perm, and how to straighten, but the best advice I can give to a beginning one-of-a-kind doll artist is: build the doll around the preexisting hair. ^_^

Cute! I think it's the thigh-high boots more than the miniskirt that make her look tarty, but I can buy the explanation that it's a halloween dress-up. Regardless of credit, the hair is perfect, and I like the way you included Crookshanks as well. Good job.

We need more action figures from books, you know? There was a line of dolls a few years ago that featured book characters--Fern from Charlotte's Web, Laura Ingalls, etc. I thought it was awesome.

SHE'S SO SPAKRLY!! I love that she's completely bedazzled, oh it just gives me so much joy. Her hat perched atop her little bushy head and the shortshort skirt and thigh high boots....Hermione's out for a night on the town. WITH CROOKSHANKS, THAT CAT IS THE BEST EVER. I love its angry little face SO MUCH.
