You know how when you're in love with something, all songs are about your love? Yyyyyyyeah, so, I need vidding skills, and I need an Avengers DVD. ALL THE VIDS ARE IN MY HEAD. So all I can do is play the songs on repeat two dozen times and watch the vids in my head and THAT'S NOT ENOUGH DAMMIT.

This could be the film that makes me learn to vid at last. I thought about it when I fell into anime fandom, but the daunting thing about that is that all the anime series are, like, twenty hours long minimum, and who's got the time to pick the perfect clips from all that? But two-and-a-half hours of movie to choose from? You can work with that, the obsessed voice in my head keeps whispering. GIMME A FEW MINUTES TO BREATHE, VOICE.

Lacking the DVD in the first place (whenwhenwhengimmegimmegimmeNOW), I should settle for making myself some more icons, 'cos I know how to do that. Text icons. Funny text icons. The only kind worth having.

Ahhhh, I know that feeling so well! I'm not a vidder either, and I do the exact same thing--collect moments and scenes in my mind playing out to music, thinking "that would be illustrated wonderfully by these lyrics" or "that sequence would be timed so well to that beat!" I say bravo if you jump into the vid making pool for Avengers! You make a good point about it being a little less daunting given the footage limitation.

Do you have any particular video editing software you're thinking about trying out? I've never gotten much of a consensus of what's the most user friendly as a starting place.

I have a Mac, so it would have to be Mac friendly. I wonder if iMovie would do the job? Probably would have all sorts of anti-piracy stuff built in so I couldn't work off the commercial DVD itself, but I figure once a commercial DVD is out someone nice will rip a digital format I can work with. Supposedly the newest version of Photoshop Elements is good at making movies, and I'm a little familiar with that.

Also, I just want to point out that RDJ is the world's biggest cutest little flirt, and can be depended upon to be suggestive with all co-stars, which is why, as a person who likes to read fan fiction, I believe he needs to be in all the movies. Ahem.

The film's only been out for 2 weeks in the U.S., so I tell myself to stop thinking about when the DVD will be out. (Doesn't really help, though. :D ) Meanwhile I'll just have to go see it in the theatres again OH DARN.

Research away! I know full well that the feeling of "omg isn't this song PERFECT for these characters" is really only a function of connecting two things you love, so it's not as if I'll try to convince anyone, but a few of my favorite songs that have bitten me include the metal cover of Poker Face by Blowsight (that is so my Natasha-centric song--Blowsight's romantic take on the bridge of that song is bleeding me out right now), Ignition by TobyMac (general Avengerian asskicking, though Hawkeye and his exploding arrows features pretty prominently), and Into the Fire by Thirteen Senses (the angsty pain-filled moments for our heroes). You asked! :D
