The due date for the Harry Potter Slash Awards (why do those splash page links fail to take you anywhere if you click them? I have to open each in a new window to get 'em to work) sub-nominees draws near (Aug 20, Wednesday), and I definitely haven't met my goal of at least looking at all of the stories. Wasn't going to happen, not going to happen. Sigh. So, I made a point of going through the Humor and PWP categories because I figured that at least a quick glance would make me capable of judging, "Is this funnier/hotter than the stories I nominated the first time around?" Actually not as easy as all that. I found some terrifically funny stories that I'm so glad I read, though the PWP stuff makes me realize how different some people's definitions are. Some stories will certainly make my recs list, whenever I get around to a new update.

So. I'll have to just go with what I know for the other categories, as far as my selections for sub-nominations go, and I just hate that. Who knows what I might be overlooking? *grumbles*

Do you have your screen set at 600 by 800? I do and I can't see anything unless I put the webpage on full screen. All the links go to a rather tiny iframe. I usually just open the links in a new window myself.

I don't get any additional frame opening as far as I can tell. Maybe it's a "won't work in Netscape" problem. Go figure.

That could very well be the problem. Last time I checked netscape didnt support Iframes. Though that was a very long time ago.

Possibly. I have Explorer, but I only use it when I absolutely have to to access a site. 'M not used to it and don't like to have to learn the differences. And one of these days I'm actually going to download Safari! Thank you very much for the info!

Sure thing, And I wouldnt bother with opening IE to see the site. Its much easier to read in a new window.

Happy Voting!

Completely off topic comment: absolutely download Safari. You won't be sorry. It's so fast, the tabbed browsing feature just rocks, the settings are easier to adjust than any browser I've worked with, and it's just overall sleek and pleasing to the eye. Adapting to it is really not that painful. Really!

*looks happily at the Snape/Black icon movie, still delighted*

thank you. I can't believe I actually succeeded in making one with words AND a picture.

Snape/Black...adorable? Heh.

If you need help with Safari at any point shoot me an email; I'm no expert but I do use the heck out of it.

It is. Which pisses me off. I hate pages which tell you what your screensize and browser need to be to work with them, because the whole point of the WWW is that it's machine and browser independent for the user. I know people still using Lynx, for god's sake. This is also why I hate ultra fancy page stuff which is all form and not function.

I do the open-in-new-window thing, myself.

Amen to that. Graphics can be pretty, but if they add nothing to the content, then I really wish that people would just leave then the hell out. Or at least provide a graphics-free page users who do things like websurf on phones or palm devices or who *gasp* often use low-res devices or text-only browsers. Sheesh.
