Halloween Pumpkin 2009

I didn't carve my Halloween pumpkin this year until the 31st!

This is the original screencap that I chose:

And this is how the pumpkin came out (unretouched photo!):

This is what I did with it to make the screencap a template, playing with the saturation and brightness in Photoshop:

Here's the finished pumpkin in normal light, without being lit from within:

And, again, the finished product.

I leveled up this year in pumpkin carving; this is the first time I've gone for pumpkin scraping in different levels of layers, without cutting all the way through anywhere. It was a trickier learning curve, but seeing the results, it's darned rewarding, and I'm going to keep at this technique.

I REALLY like this technique. I got to a point where I had to take the pumpkin into a dark room and put in the candle and do more scraping, because I didn't really believe that once I took off the skin the layers would look different, but it did! Next time it'll go faster, I bet. ^_^

That's so cool. I've only carved once - when I was 13. It was pretty awful, but I did enjoy digging out the seeds :)

Roasting the seeds is one of the fun parts, too! (Though I sometimes get tired of pumpkin seeds in the fall--I let the seeds from this pumpkin go, in the name of quick clean-up. ^_^ )

(And this hot Sebastian guy kind of reminds me of Lelouch, in that pose, but he's probably not like Lelouch at all?)

He's not! Very different character, very different feel to the series. Horror/humor. A Boy and His Butler. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ABoyAndHisX) However, they both share some seriously filthy slashfanservice. :D

So cool! I saw some cosplayers dressed as Kuroshitsuji characters at a convention in Lucca, Italy this Friday. It made me think of you.

So many gorgeous Victorian outfits to choose from for cosplay on the main character alone! And I love hearing how transcontinental the show's fans are. :D

I think I'd like Sebastian!pie to seduce me, if I were to have a say in it! Except he wouldn't let me have a say. And that's the point. :D

Also, it lasts longer than a DAY! (The ones you carve all the way through in tiny detail are collapsing on themselves within a day!)

I should have done this. My friend and I tried to make an Autobot/decepticon (from Transformers) pumpkin but we cut the whole way through and out decepticon fell apart, alas. xD
