I have Voldemort convinced that this is a long-term plan to addict Harry to me and earn his loyalty through the one thing that is sure to be uncorruptible: the sweetness of his heart. That's always a good nerve to touch with the Dark Lord, as he particularly hates that about Harry, knows it cannot be uprooted like some decayed tooth. He likes the idea of Harry genuinely in love with me, founded upon that weakness which is his strength.
