Explanation...
Aug. 17th, 2004 08:27 pmA few words: I'm sorry that my posting regularity on the stories for the the
pornish_pixies Fantasy Fest has been, well, irregular. The reason is a good one--not a "reasonable" one but an honest to god GOOD one--I've been writing the stories! I've finished, as of this evening, eight of the 14 fics, but some are in post-beta and some in beta and some in pre-beta.
Here's what happens: I finish one (usually just before bed), and immediately open a new document and make myself select another one of the challenges (usually the one that makes me say, "Oh, that one's gonna be one of the tough ones") and write the first few lines of it. Meaning, next morning, instead of going back to the ones which need post-beta cleanup, and doing it and posting them, I spend the day writing the next story. Right up to bed.
I am hoping, at this point, to be able to say that I wrote all 14 stories before the deadline was up at the end of the month--what may not be realistic is to have them all beta'd and posted by then. I don't want to post 8 stories on August 31, either! That's just community swampage. We'll have to see.
And I can't believe I haven't mentioned this before this: did you all see that
ponderosa121 has drawn me GORGEOUS, INCREDIBLE, SMUT-FILLED ART for every one of the stories so far? And says she's going to try to do something for all of them? Dead I am, absolutely dead of joy. She's an insanely talented artist whose art is simply one with teh pretty. You tell me you wouldn't die, too!
Yeah, I know, in the time it took me to write this post, I could have beta'd and posted a story. Well, not quite. Am going back to Word now, yes, promise.
