Macintosh moanings and Screwy slashiness...

I have a new iBook, and with it, Panther.

I love the new Expose and the Fast User Switching features. Because of the latter I'm trying to create different user identities for work and play. It's very cool.

Unfortunately, the one piece of software that I rely on to make my mouse activity to my perfect specifications-- USB Overdrive --claims to be Panther compatible...and it isn't. Ain't working. I can't live with Apple's default mouse/scrolling software; it's like having had a racecar and being asked to drive something with a V4 engine. Blah.

So, I will bang and scream on the virtual door of Alessandro Montalcini (support@usboverdrive.com) for an update and/or explanation (I'm not asking for anything fancy here, guys, just a mouse with two buttons and a scroll wheel, sheesh), and I'll keep using my perfectly fine Safari-equipped iBook until then, and that way I don't have to spend the next three days straight doing nothing but bringing the new one up to specs with software.

Meaning I can make and upload icons. (Yippee! isiscolo, you wonderful sweet thing, thank you for the lovely lovely gift of icon space!)

Meaning I can do some RPG posts. (Sulking!Wormtail and dad-of-Snape's-baby!Dumbledore, here I come!)

Meaning I can hang out on Y!M and #knockturn more.

Meaning I can write Nemo/Gill slash--

--OMFG did I just say that??!!!

(I've got the WHOLE THING plotted out. Can't turn back now.)

(I am just twisted enough to do it.)

(What I'm NOT, unfortunately, is an ichthyologist. But I think I've got a workaround.)

(I'm so completely hopeless.)
