Non-spoilery Iron Man notes.

I saw Iron Man today. There's this moment, this image, right near the beginning, right? That I looked at and thought, "Holy s**t, I will need to write some serious slash for this film." And then? Like, every time those two characters were onscreen together? EVERY time? The slash freakin' wrote itself. There is no more left for me to do. Jeebus frak.

I loved the movie. Loved it to pieces. Any time the camera wasn't actually on Robert Downey, Jr.'s face, I wanted to insist they get right back to it, dammit. He's brilliant in this, makes the film a divine, natural piece of storytelling. And the man has the prettiest crow's-feet laugh lines about his eyes I've ever seen. Robert, Robert, do not be led down the path of Botox. Satan and his minions lurk for you in that wayward direction. And never shave the facial hair either. All pictures of him clean-shaven now look WRONG.

Dude, I had such low expectations for this movie and now everyone says it's good and I can't WAIT. I love that character.

I hope you love it! I had a thing for Iron Man when I was small but only the armoured guy. I don't know if I even knew what Iron Man's real name was back then. Beware the comments here, we're getting a little spoilery!

I had low hopes because it seems like Marvel doesn't bother with its second-tier characters - it does Spider-Man and X-Men up pretty well, but then it turns out shit like "Daredevil", "Elektra", "The Punisher" and "Ghostrider". I was sure "Iron Man" was going to go the same way. Hurray! Hopefully they won't fuck up the Hulk as badly the second time out.

I'm, like, the only person who liked Daredevil, it's true. But thank god X-Men turned out pretty decently, all three films!

not the only one :) although Elektra was truly horrifying. Was I the only one who liked Punisher? Also, I have re-watched Ghostrider. While fast forwarding all Nick Cage bits. Gosh that Damien-what-ever guy was nice to look at. And teh uber slashy. (or, ya know, the slash goggles have welded to my face by now. but that's just how I like it :))

(Then again, I have a ridiculously high cheese tolerance. I mean, I've willingly, joyfully watched Van Helsing about 50 times in one summer alone)
