GIP!

As it looks like the trailer contains no better pictures of Tonks, I'll use what I've got.

...Have I mentioned this "I'm in yr _____, ____ing yr ______" thing is taking over my life? Someone says, "I'm in the kitchen making tea, want some?" and I yell back, "I'm in your kitchen, makin' your tea!" To which they look at me funny and say, "I don't even try to understand you anymore."

That icon is so awesome. . .Now I want a PotC one with Elizabeth. . . ::grin::

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2006-11-18 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you have a picture of Elizabeth or two that you'd like used for the purpose? I could whip one up quick!

Don't mind my icon; it's just my favorite picture of Tonks so far. *g*

Can you explain the origins of the "I'm in your...etc."? I get a kick out of it, but I don't know where it's from!

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2006-11-18 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I do love that picture! I have no clue how to get the one I used to be in better focus. Was yours in good focus to begin with?

And, look! Wikipedia has a whole entry on the subject! Er--wait, they used to, now all I can find is this sub-entry on this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_phenomena

IM IN UR BASE KILLIN UR D00DZ — Originally thought to have been posted on a gaming forum showing a member of one gaming faction killing members of a rival faction, with the caption split into two phrases at the top and bottom of the image. Many subsequent versions have been created, all following the "I'M IN UR (noun)(verb)ING UR (noun)" format.

My favorite: "I'm in ur sink, cloggin ur drainz." This captions a picture of a fat, fluffy cat in a bathroom sink.

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2006-11-18 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
They all make me crack up! The stingray one ("I'm in ur oceanz, killin ur celebrities") is too good.

[identity profile] atdelphi.livejournal.com 2006-11-18 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it wrong that my first reaction to that icon was a puzzled: "But Tonks/Ginny would make a great slash pairing!" I am so divorced from canon it isn't funny. :-D

it's a terrible thing to say.

really.

I've been doing the same thing these days. I was at work and I answered a call from a young guy that I had talked to before, and he said, "oh, I'm glad I got you." and I said, "I'm on ur phone, fixin ur satellite."

[identity profile] rectpropagation.livejournal.com 2006-11-18 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
That icon is too awesome!

Is it bad that when I read a "I'm in yr _____, ____ing yr ______" in my head it sounds like the Joker saying, "He's at home, washing his tights"?

Slashkiller...sounds like the name of a bad guy in a video game. A very bad video game.

Re: 2nd Best Thing Evar (this week)

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2006-11-18 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Slashkiller, oh, god, you have me flashing on something you probably won't even get, but there's this incomprehensible song in a MST3K episode where no one can figure out what they're singing, and the guys are saying, "Fishpicker? Pigsticker?" in response...now I'm adding, "Slashkiller?" to that riff!

Oh, internet phenomenons. The other day, I saw a box at work that had the brand name "orly" on it, and all I could think of was O RLY? hee

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2006-11-18 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)

It's taken over my life too. I've been using it all over the place. See? Even my default icon changed, after almost HALF A YEAR of the Hitch Hiker's quote.

So perhaps you know. What started all this?

...that is a horrible shade of purple. Tonks has no taste.

*cough* The 'Im in ur NOUN, VERBing ur NOUN' thing has gotten me too. This morning I was stripping down one of the trees in my parents' garden, and I randomly said to my dad 'I'm in ur tree, strimmin ur branches' and he just gave me this '.....what?' look which didn't fade even remotely after I explained. >_> <_<

Oh lord, at work, it's me and one of the home dec girls. And now the managers are picking up on it, and THEY DON'T QUITE GET IT. So conversations about lunch have degenerated into this:

Me: Where are we going for lunch?
Beth: Subway?
Me: 'Kay. I'm in ur restaurant, ordering your food, whaddayouwant?
Beth: Chicken bacon ranch in ur bread, smothered with cheese.
Me: Aight. I'm gonna go in the office, asking ur managers if they want in. ::goes to office:: I'm going to Subway, getting ur sandwiches. You want?
Manager A: No thanks. ::holds up lunch bag:: I'm in my office, eating your lunch.
Manager B: Let me get my wallet, giving your money.

ALL DAY LONG. This is what we do. "I'm in the back room, cutting ur foam!" "I'm at the registers, ringing ur stuff!" Good times.

I know this has nothing to do with your post, but I have a question for you. I've read "Blood for a Parched Tongue" more times than is healthy (kinda the case with most of your stories, but I digress), and I was wondering which words were the ones considered too un-sexy to be hot? I can't tell with the way you've used them.

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2006-11-19 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's see, I'm goin' through the story and looking.

--Everyone who's squeamish, turn your head! :

pole, rod, tits, hole, core, knob, fuckhole, slit, leak, channel...I'm pretty sure of those. But that wasn't all and now I'm not sure what the others are! I might have used drip, juices, etc., of my own accord, or maybe they were some of them too, I dunno! I should check the original list and see what clicks. ^_^
