psychoanalyzing why women read and write slash has always been a matter of deepest annoyance with me. it's sex. it's hot. opportunities for creativity (especially in the HP fandom) expand tenfold, because there are that many more important-to-canon male characters. those characters' respective conflicts add wonderful depth to their romantic interactions, and vice versa. anybody who's read nimori, or cassandra claire, or fabula rasa (or amanuensis1...sorry, i feel a little goofy giving you props in your own thread...heh), could tell you that.
