Fictional enablers r us.

I feel like I need to put some kind of disclaimer somewhere, because I've discovered it's way, way too much fun to write Tony Stark on a drunken bender, since it collapses the few filters the character has. This makes me ashamed in a way that even writing tortureporn didn't equal, because even the comics eventually decided Iron Man needed an intervention. So here, I'm saying it in this post, PSA: Alcoholism is a disease, kiddies. Drunk!Tony's only fun 'cos he's fictional.

(Inference to be had here: Tony POV fic coming from me soon.)

In today's edition of JR: PLR: this is hardly an unpopular picture, so you might very well have seen it, but I kind of need to have this somewhere I can get to it quick.

PREEEETTYYYYYY.. :D Yes, I've seen this picture before, but so what, it never gets old!

even the comics eventually decided Iron Man needed an intervention.

Yes, comics!Tony hasn't had a drink in a long time, after nearly destroying himself in the past. Then again, comics!Tony is not quite the same as movie!Tony in terms of characterisation, but also movie!Tony hasn't gone through everything that comics!Tony has. so there is that. In any case, I enjoy both versions of the character. But mostly, YAY that you're writing Tony fic! \o/

Yes, comics!Tony's got quite the number of years of plotlines on movie!Tony, hasn't he. I actually was paying attention during The Avengers to Tony's actual drinking, to see if he'd reformed, but, no--Pepper pours him the champagne and he's on the verge of drinking it when he's interrupted, but the intention is there, and when Tony offers Loki a drink and makes himself one he actually does pick it up and sip at it. One could argue that the latter is distraction, but the champagne moment still tells me he's not in the recovering alcoholic stage yet--he's just in the alchoholic stage. WHY DO I THINK ABOUT THIS SO HARD.
