I didn't quite want to buy it, see...

Guess who moved up from number 80 on the library's reserve list for the book to 20, over the past few months?

Guess how many copies of the book the library system apparently has?

Yeah, wish me luck or laughter or whatever you like, I'm about to tackle it.

Good luck. I've owned the book for a few months now and I can't make myself read it. (I bought it on someone else's recommendation.) Every now and then I pick it up, glare at it, then put it back down. I'll probably never get the darned thing read.

I read the first after I finished DH on the recommendation of a friend who assured me they would take my mind off of my mourning...(yes I mourned after Book 7!)

I remember throwing it after I finished and saying "THIS is supposed to take my mind off the way Severus died???"

That said, I did read the rest of the series.

Good for you. When you make your way up the list and finally read it, please post your thoughts. I'm always curious to hear what people make of these books, probably because I've read them all but am still unsure what I make of them.

You all just don't understand the joy of Mary Sues and their *dazzling* vampire loves.

I think I have it easier than most. I get to read harmless pulpy fantasy fic with absolutely no guilt - in fact, it gets attributed to me for righteousness, as the Original Fanfic has it, because I am reading aloud to the younguns. And while yes, there is good stuff like Pullman and Tolkien in there, we are also slogging through the entire Eragon series. (Please tell me the dragon takes a crossbow in the eye before too much longer.)

The Twilight series is next on our list, and I'm looking forward to it immensely -- I get to see what the fuss is about, and I get the joy of seeing it all through my 10 year old's joyously uncritical eyes, which get to be my eyes for a few weeks. Sometimes, underneath the hardened glaze of all my cynicism, there is lemon cake.
