Okay, maybe this has already been pointed out and wanked over, but I just turned on the television and I see these three kids running about having time-travelling adventures and they look like this:

(The show's called Time Warp Trio.)

And the frizzy-haired girl's bossy and the red-haired boy's kind of the comic relief and the black-haired boy's trying to keep them all focused.

Um, this raised no eyebrows at the tv networks? Or is this one of those R.A.B. things--you only think it's obvious if you're deep in the fandom?

I think it's less that the show lifted Harry, Ron and Hermione than that Harry, Ron and Hermione were already three fairly common character types in children's stories--which is not to say that their physical resemblance was completely undeliberate.

Hee, and *I* read it just after I saw Star Wars, so, I was all rooting for Luke and Leia! Foster's brain and mine were going in the same direction. ^_^

OMG, icon love. I remember being absolutely HORRIFIED when I found out Luke and Leia were siblings (I was only 15 and easily shocked) because I had just finished reading SotME right before RotJ came out. Now I just laugh.

I was cheering for Luke and Leia, I was! But, hey, I was young. I thought the hero should always get the girl. ^_^
